Q.No.2: Read the following passage and answer the questions given at the end.
Though all of us strive to be happy, none is completely happy. Accidents spoil our happiness. Sickness and death often do the same. There are many infirmities of the flesh and spirit which stand in the way of our attaining complete happiness. No one is immune from them besides; one’s happiness does not always depend entirely on one’s own actions. An ungrateful child may ruin the happiness of his father, heartless husband may embitter the life of his wife. Some men are so sensitive that they do feel happy unless those around them are also happy. Their sympathies are those that suffer may be too keen to allow them to be happy. It is also true that our desires are always in advance of our possessions. We desire many things and as we attain very few of them, we feel unhappy.
Translation:
اگرچہ ہم سب ہی خوش رہنے کی کوشش کرتے ہیں مگر کوئی بھی مکمل طور پر خوش نہیں ہے۔ حادثات ہماری خوشی کو تباہ کر دیتے ہیں۔ بیماری اور موت اکثر ایسا ہی کرتی ہیں۔ ہماری روح اور جان میں بہت سی کمزوریاں ہوتی ہیں جو ہماری مکمل خوشی حاصل کرنے میں رکاوٹ ہوتی ہیں۔ کوئی بھی بندہ ان سے محفوظ نہیں ہے۔ اسکے علاوہ ایک آدمی کی مکمل خوشی کا انحصار اسکے اپنے اعمال پر نہیں ہوتا۔ ایک ناشکرا بچہ اپنے باپ کی خوشیوں کو تباہ کر سکتا ہے۔ ایک جذبات سے عاری شوہر اپنی بیوی کی ذندگی کی تلخ کر سکتا ہے۔ کچھ آدمی اتنے حساس ہوتے ہیں کہ وہ اسوقت تک خوشی محسوس نہیں کرتے جب تک کے ان کے ارد گرد سب خوش نہ ہوں۔ انکی ہمدردیاں وہ ہوتی ہیں جو اتنی مبتلا ہوتی ہیں کہ وہ اتنی گہری ہوتی ہیں کہ وہ خوش نہیں رہ سکتے۔ یہ بات بھی سچ ہے کہ ہماری خواہشات ہمیشہ ہماری ملکیت کی ذیادتی میں ہوتی ہیں۔ ہم بہت ساری چیزوں کی خواہش کرتے ہیں اور ان میں سے بہت کم پوری کر پاتے ہیں اوور ہم بہت ناخوش رہتے ہیں۔

Answer: The main causes of unhappiness are sickness, accidents, death or some other issue regarding our health or soul.

Answer: The sensitive people cannot feel happy because of the unhappiness around them. If all around them are happy, they become happy.

Answer:Everyone wants to be happy but it seems a desire. Sickness, accidents, death or some other issue regarding our health or soul are the main causes of our unhappiness. Happiness is inner as well as outer matter. That’s why, the sensitive people cannot feel happy because of the unhappiness around them. However, the limitation of desires can bring happiness for us.

Sir,
I want to draw your attention to a grave problem of society. As you know that the trend of rash and reckless driving of motor cars is increasing day by day. Men, women and children are at the mercy of the drivers. Specially, this trend has become a danger for the children. It is also a danger for the old people who want to cross the roads and women who want to cross road with burden on their heads. That’s why, accidents are taking place daily. So many lives are lost in these accidents. Sometimes, two motor cars coming from opposite sides collide with each other due to their breakneck speed. These accidents are a routine matter. Sometimes, the drivers crush the people under their vehicles and escape from the crime scene. The people cannot know their names and note the numbers of their motor cars. That’s why, they often escape from punishment. This trend should be removed as soon as possible. I would like to give some suggestions to handle this grave problem. First, the drivers who drive carelessly, their driving license should be cancelled. Second, if the drivers cause some accident, they should be punished severely because even if they are punished, the punishment imposed upon them is not so deterrent. Third, the traffic police should be made vigilant.
I am sure that the concerned authorities would take immediate action against it.

اسوقت امریکہ اور مغربی ممالک نے اسلام کو تنقید کا نشانہ بنا رکھا ہے اور مسلمانوں کو سب سے بڑا دہشت گرد قرار دینے کی مہم شروع کر رکھی ہے۔ اسکا مقصد اسلام اور مسلمانوں کو بدنام کرنا ہے۔ انہیں فلسطین ، کشمیر، عراق، افغانستان، بوسنیا اور چیچنیا میں مسلمانوں کے خلاف اسرائیل ، بھارت، امریکہ اور روس کی ریاستی دہشت گردی نظر نہیں آتی۔ ضرورت اس امر کی ہے کہ مسلمانوں پر ہونے والے مظالم کے خلاف پورا عالم اسلام متحد ہو جائے۔ مزید برآں یہ دور جدید ٹیکنالوجی اور تعلیم کا ہے مسلمانوں کو ان دونوں شعبوں میں ترقی کرنی چاہئیے۔
Translation: At present, America and the Western countries have made Islam the target of their criticism and started a campaign to declare the Muslims the terrorists. Its purpose is to defame Islam and the Muslims. They do not notice the state terrorism of Israel, India, America and Russia in Palestine, Kashmir, Iraq, Afghanistan, Bosnia and Chechnya. The need of the hour is the unity of whole Islamic world against the cruelties being done to the Muslims. Moreover, this is the age of technology and education. The Muslims should make progress in both the fields.
